Advanced image retouching and montage is about image processing that goes beyond basic adjustments. This is where we work manually, layer by layer, to solve complex image problems or build images that cannot be created in camera.
In practice, this means combining multiple exposures, replacing or adjusting parts of an image, removing distracting elements in a controlled manner, working with light and color locally, or creating realistic montages. All done with a focus on natural results, correct proportions, and believable lighting.
We have formal training in digital image processing (Fotoskolan Stockholm, 2015–2017) and extensive experience in professional retouching in Photoshop. The work is done with a drawing tablet (Wacom), which provides precision in masks, transitions and details.
We also work on finishing and adjusting AI-generated images. Where AI often creates a good foundation, we take over the final step: correcting details, lighting, perspective and surfaces so that the end result is professional-quality and works in practical contexts.
Fun fact: Emelie was named the winner of the 2017 Wacom competition when she won with her montage.
