Sharp images, vivid stories
We are Chimli Retouch & Motion – a creative studio focused on image and video editing. Behind the screens you will find us: Emelie and Christine, sisters with a shared love for visual storytelling.
With one foot in Umeå and the other in Uppsala, we work together across distances. Our journey began with retouching and image processing, but has grown to encompass both photography and moving material.
Emelie, educated at Fotoskolan STHLM, has worked professionally with real estate photography and e-commerce since 2014. Christine joined the company in 2020 and has since specialized in video editing and color correction.
During intensive periods, we are supported by Louise, our technically skilled retoucher with a sense of structure, flow and sustainable working methods.
Why
Chimli Retouch & Motion?
Our name, Chimli, is a combination of our names – Christine and Emelie. It reflects our close relationship and our work together where we combine technology and creativity to create something unique and symbolizes our collaboration. Initially, we were called Mli.p Retouch, but as we broadened our focus to both retouching and motion, we wanted a name that better reflects our development.
WHAT WE DO
Creativity in interaction with technology
We help photographers, agents and creatives elevate their material through meticulous retouching and color correction. Through a combination of technology and artistic eye, we ensure that every image and film has the feel and quality needed to make an impression.
Despite the rapid development of AI and automated tools, we believe that the human eye is irreplaceable when it comes to color, light and aesthetics. Technology can improve efficiency, but it is the emotion behind each image that makes the difference.
We love what we do and are passionate about creating visually strong material – whether it's a residential image that needs that little extra or a film that should convey a story.

The editors
With us, one of us – Emelie, Christine or Louise – always handles your images. This means we can ensure consistent, high quality throughout the process. We work closely together and have an open dialogue around each project to understand your needs and deliver results that match your style and vision.
Founder & Retoucher
Emelie Mäki
Emelie is the creative force behind our image editing, with an eye for color, feel and structure. She is driven by building smart workflows and finding balance in each image series. With a background in retouching from both e-commerce and real estate, she is driven by combining creativity with efficiency. In her free time, she prefers to hang out with her family, go skiing in Hemavan or take photos in Tavelsjö.
Video Editor & Retoucher
Christine Persson
Christine is the video editor with a love for storytelling and thoughtful details.
She brings a calm and open approach to her work, and she’s the one who enjoys experimenting, fine-tuning, and making a project feel truly finished. In addition to working in DaVinci, Premiere, and After Effects, she finds inspiration in nature, silence, and the energetic company of her dog.

Louise Lindberg
Louise jumps into the team when needed and is a skilled retoucher.
She has a passion for technology and smart solutions – and often brings new ideas that make everyday work easier. When she’s not at her screen, you’ll likely find her in the garden, on the couch knitting a sweater, or giving something old a beautiful new life. Sustainability, both in life and in work, is something she carries with her in everything she does.
