Get an email when your images are ready - how to enable Dropbox notifications

  • 2 min read

Every time we upload your finished images, Dropbox can automatically send you an email notification. You don’t need to log in and check manually - the notification arrives in your inbox as soon as the files are ready.

Why Dropbox notifications are useful:
  • You know exactly when the images are ready

  • You can forward the email directly to the real estate agent so they can download the images themselves

  • The agent does not need their own Dropbox account - they can download everything through the direct link in the email

Dropbox folder settings - how to find the gear icon to follow a folder

How to enable Dropbox notifications

On desktop (dropbox.com):

  1. Log in to dropbox.com

  2. Locate the shared folder from Chimli

  3. Click the gear icon next to the folder name

  4. Click “Folder settings” in the menu

  5. Click “Follow”

  6. Choose whether you want notifications instantly or as a daily summary

  7. Done - you will now receive an email every time we upload new files

Note: If you choose instant Dropbox notifications, they are usually sent in roughly 10-minute intervals - not the exact second we upload the files.

Forward the notification to the agent

When you receive the Dropbox notification email, you can simply forward it directly to the real estate agent. The email contains a direct link to the folder, allowing the agent to open the link and download the images without needing their own Dropbox account.

This saves you from having to copy and send a separate download link for every delivery.

Can’t find the gear icon?

The icon appears when you hover your mouse over the folder name on dropbox.com. If the icon is greyed out or not clickable, it usually means the folder has not been shared correctly - contact us and we’ll make sure the sharing settings are set up properly.
